Foundation of Rotary Clubs Singapore Family Service Centre (FRCS FSC) held its Open House and Community Carnival with the theme of ‘Nurturing Partnerships, Strengthening Communities’ on 5 October 2019. It was an event for residents and stakeholders to visit our transformed space since we began serving the community in 1997 as well as an opportunity to showcase our services and latest initiatives.

Over 500 residents and families turned up to bond with one another through various carnival activities such as games, balloon sculpting, henna and caricature drawing, photo booth as well as wide spread of food and beverages. Guided tour of the FSC’s premises, talks on marital and mindfulness, and storytelling session for children were offered too.

Dr Tan Wu Meng, Adviser to Jurong GRC Grassroots Organisations (Clementi) graced the event by presenting SuperSTUDENTS! bursaries to deserving children of the FSC’s beneficiaries and tokens of appreciation to stakeholders and volunteers.

Dr Tan also launched our latest initiative – Parent-Child Link (PCL), a programme that aims to provide disadvantaged families with young children the opportunities to identify and develop their potentials and strengths through home-based interventions that include reading and playing.

The event was a great success! Thanks to the awesome support from Clementi Zone 2 Residents’ Committee Drumming Interest Group, Clementi Community Centre, South West Community Development Council, ITE College West, Ophthalmology Nurses Chapter of Singapore Nurses Association, Singapore National Eye Centre, PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Clementi, Starbucks Coffee Singapore, and many other stakeholders and residents who took time to attend the event.

We are happy to have created the platform to bring our community closer and we wish to thank all our guests for celebrating our key milestone together.
